Valley-Wide Health Systems is pleased to have a qualified staff of health care providers. These health care provider categories are: Casemanager-A Casemanager works with the patient/family and health care team to reduce barriers to health care. This includes financial application assistance, referrals to community resources, and other educational activities. Certified Nurse Practitioner-A nurse who has received special training to provide health care, under a doctor’s guidance, for persons of all ages. Child Health Associate-A Physician's Assistant who has special training in providing health care for children and teenagers. Endocrinologist-A doctor who specializes in diabetic care, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, hypertension, obesity, and other diseases associated with glands and hormones. Family Practitioner-A doctor who cares for patients of all ages, children and adults. Family Practitioner-Obstetrics-A doctor who cares for patients of all ages, children and adults. This includes prenatal care, labor and delivery. Gastroenterologist-A doctor who specializes in diseases of the digestive tract including the esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas and gallbladder. Internist-A doctor who has special training in providing health care for older adolescents, adults, and the elderly (geriatrics). Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)-A nurse who has completed a practical nursing program and is licensed by a state to provide routine patient care under the direction of a registered nurse or a physician Pediatrician– A doctor who specializes in care for infants and children. Physician Assistant-A person specially trained to provide health care. This person works under a doctor's supervision and gives care for all ages. Pulmonologist-A doctor who specializes in diseases and disorders of the lungs. Registered Nurse (RN)-A graduate trained nurse who has passed a state registration examination and has been licensed to practice nursing. |
